To start off, motivation is when you have the willingness to do something, the reason you have to push yourself to finish tasks like eating, sleeping, doing chores, or studying. It’s hard to motivate yourself to study and get out of bed nowadays because, to be honest, there really is nothing fun besides watching TV and playing video games while being cooped inside all day. But nevertheless, we still need to study and go to school, even if that’s in our pajamas.
For motivation, lots of people find it easier as you progress into something than to first start the task; which can mean that it’s easier to finish homework or chores than to first start them. So if you want to get motivated, just start and things will go along smoothly.
Another tip to stay motivated is to build a schedule, repeat parts of your day, and change other parts to add something new to your life every day. Setting up a schedule can get you into a habit of doing things at a certain time. That means that when the time comes, you are motivated to follow through with the rhythm you have built up day by day. You can also change your schedule from time to time to better motivate yourself. For example, read a chapter of a book before starting homework, or try washing dishes right after you finish eating and slowly making it a habit.
Overall, motivation is something that is complicated and really relies on a person’s willpower to take action. Think of things that you want to accomplish and think about how you can make more time to give yourself some time to relax by finishing things beforehand. When everything is set at a steady rhythm and pace, things will get easier, and tasks like finishing homework and helping around the house would seem like less of a challenge as they will be a benefit towards your goals, and also a good helping hand to your family.
