It’s hard to focus and it’s easy to feel unproductive when staring at a screen all day especially when there’s a pandemic going on. I’m going to be sharing with you a few activities and tips that I’ve been doing to relieve my stress, as well as how I disconnect from technology.
Lately I’ve been working out in the morning before my classes start to stretch out my muscles and get ready for the day. I know it can be hard to get up considering how early it is, but you can always do it in between classes. There are tons of short mini workout plans that you can easily do even if it’s just sitting in your chair. If working out doesn’t refresh your body, drinking a cup of water in the morning will. Personally I find it hard to remember to keep myself hydrated, so the night before I fill a large water bottle with lemon water and place it next to where I’m going to be doing classes. This way you’ll be able to have your water in reach without having to miss the lessons your teachers are going over.
They say the most important meal of the day is breakfast and that’s true. Eating a bowl of berries or even if it’s a small granola bar can help you be more focused throughout the day. I’ve been on the hunt for the best vegan pancake recipes and have recently found one that tastes like banana bread.

Given the large amounts of homework and studying we all have to do, focusing on it can be a struggle if there’s so much noise and distractions surrounding your work area. I recommend plugging in your headphones and putting on your favorite playlist. That way the music will be able to drown out the noise and you’ll be able to get all your work done in no time.
It can be tempting for us to immediately watch Netflix right after we’re done with class, but maybe you’ll find painting or drawing so much more fun. Even if it’s taking a short nap or going for a walk, your eyes will be able to rest after spending hours staring at the screen. Online school has been stressful and sometimes overwhelming, but making one of these activities or tips a habit will inspire you to find other small little things that bring you joy.
